This study examines the research landscape of Internet Addiction through a
scientometric analysis of Scopus–indexed publications from 2021 to 2025. Data were
retrieved from the Scopus database using a structured search strategy focused on
Internet Addiction research. A total of 3,285 documents published across 1,751 sources
were analysed using Biblimetricx in R Studio for performance analysis, collaboration
mapping and thematic visualisation. The findings revealed a significant annual growth
rate 27.31%, indicating a rapidly increasing scholarly interest in the field. Journal articles
continued the dominant document type, while collaborative research patterns were
highly prominent with an average of 6.88 co-authors per document and 30.81%
international collaboration. India emerged as the leading contributor in terms of
publications, and the All-India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) was identified as
the most prolific source, and several highly productive researchers demonstrated notable
scholarly impact. At the same time, Bradford’s Law confirmed the existence of a core
group of influential journals. This study highlights the rapid expansion and
multidisciplinary nature of Internet Addiction research and provides valuable insights
into publication trends, influential contributors, and emerging research directions
